A 21-year-old woman named Robin Williams was arrested with a teen named Tupac Crum after more than 114 pounds of marijuana — worth more than $69,000 — was found in a Chevrolet pickup truck pulled over in Arizona on Sunday, authorities said.
The woman, who shares a name with the legendary late comedian, was busted with her 19-year-old pal — who has no apparent relation to the “Dear Mama” rapper slain in 1996 — after authorities from the Arizona Department of Public Safety pulled them over for an alleged traffic violation. A third suspect, Erick Harris, 22, was also arrested.
Troopers were immediately suspicious of the trio and called a K9 officer to the scene. A subsequent search turned up five large plastic-wrapped packages of pot in a tool and equipment box in the bed of the truck, according to a news release.
“Through interagency cooperation and the combination of our resources, we will continue to remove dangerous drugs off the streets,” Arizona Department of Public Safety Assistant Director Lt. Col. Ken Hunter said. “Together we are committed to making communities in Arizona safer through the aggressive enforcement of our state’s drug laws.”
Crum, Williams and Harris — all of Albuquerque, New Mexico — were booked into the Gila County jail on numerous drug charges. It’s unclear if the three have hired attorneys.
