A suspect sought in three sex attacks in lower Manhattan was arrested early Saturday, cops said.
Robert Bowie, 20, was arrested around 1 a.m. on charges including rape, robbery and burglary in the three-hour crime spree.
Bowie’s alleged rampage culminated in the rape of a 40-year-old woman inside her apartment near the FDR Drive around 8:45 a.m. Thursday, police said.
He emerged from the building’s stairwell and tried to strike up a conversation with the woman outside her door before grabbing her and forcing his way into her apartment, cops said. He then allegedly raped her.
The attack came on the heels of two other assaults.
The first occurred around 5:45 a.m., when he allegedly tried to rape a 33-year-old woman in her James Street building. The woman fought back, and the suspect ran off.
At around 7:40 a.m., Bowie allegedly accosted a woman in a building on Broome Street. He ran off when the woman screamed for help, police said.
Neither of the first two victims was injured.
The rape victim was treated at a local hospital and released.
Police sources said Bowie has seven prior arrests, most of which are sealed.
He was awaiting arraignment at Manhattan Criminal Court late Saturday.
