Georgia Police Seize $100 Million In Marijuana
July 2, 2015

Drug seizures don't get much higher than this one.
Authorities in Georgia reported seizing 23,000 marijuana plots growing on a large plot of land on June 23, the Monroe County Sherriff's Office reported.
The street value of the plants exceeds $100 million, according to the DEA.
Authorities did not reveal details of the seizure and no arrests have been made.

Sheriff Office spokeswoman Allison Selman-Willis said the weed was growing on a large privately owned field that is several acres long in a rural section of the county.
There was corn also growing on the property but the marijuana was growing in plain sight and was detected by aerial surveillance, she said.
The volume of drugs was so large pictures form authorities show a large truck being brought in to collect the plants. The investigation is ongoing, Selman-Willis said.
