NJ Teen Fatally Shot In Front of Family In Newark
A New Jersey teen was shot and killed in front of her friends and family on the front steps of a Newark home Thursday night, police said.
Tammy Henderson, 19, was socializing on a front stoop on the 100 block of South 11th Street when a man in a hood walked up with a gun at about 10:45 p.m., PIX 11 reported.
As he fired, Henderson's family and friends ran inside and were not hit. But Henderson was shot in the head and died at the scene, despite her friends' efforts to save her.
Henderson's sister told PIX 11 that a love triangle may have sparked the shooting.
Investigators have not yet confirmed a motive, and no arrests have been made.
Henderson just graduated from high school and was working at a movie theater while trying to become a dental assistant, according to her family and her Facebook page.
